dikhe pichala, gaya guzaraa, aur dikhe vartmaan, aage ka bhi dekh lenge, saath mein hai jab shaan

There are times when my own Dark Passenger whispers, telling me truths I haven’t considered and I’m quite appreciative of it. It gives me that sharper edge, that higher resolution view of the bigger picture that others lack, providing me with the cunning and agile ability to overcome hurdles that will try to hinder my pace, to derail me from the path I’ve carefully paved. Now, is unfortunately not one of those times.

Catching me at my weakest, the whispers are currently unwelcome.

A phrase you’ve encountered upteen times, ‘The truth is complicated’, that cliched set of words that ironically holds the strongest truth about truths if there was one. Well, there’s the rub.

We often avoid seeing truths in order to maintain a level of comfort in our lives, let me rephrase that, to avoid discomfort, to forge a delay in focussing on things that may not come to be. It’s but a natural feature of the humanoid psyche. It protects us under many conditions and weakens us in others.

The concern at hand is that I know that the whispers have a better grasp of what reality I need than I do, thus making it difficult to ignore.

The whisper repeats itself, calmly.

“Don’t forget who you are.”
